About Duerden Group

  • We’re a practical construction and civils team led by James Duerden. We deliver projects across Cumbria and the North West, and travel nationally by agreement for other projects/schemes.

  • Realistic plans, clear sequencing and quick decisions. We lock procurement early, agree hold-points, and keep you updated with short progress notes so issues are caught before they become delays.

  • RAMS for every task, briefed crews, supervised works, clean haul routes and housekeeping routines. Visitors are inducted, PPE is enforced and checks are recorded.

  • Both. Core supervision is in-house; specialist trades are vetted and managed under our QA and site rules so quality and safety are consistent.

  • Yes. We review drawings for buildability, flag risks, suggest methods and provide itemised quotes and outline programmes to support approvals.

  • We do. We partner with charities, colleges and employers to offer supervised placements, basic tickets and mentoring, creating a route into sustained, better-paid work.

Our Services

  • Earthworks, groundworks, surveying, concreting, construction packages, civil engineering, landscaping, materials and plant & agri hire. Tell us your scope and we’ll confirm the best delivery route.

  • We can estimate from drawings and a brief, then confirm after a site visit to check access, services and assumptions before finalising programme and cost.

  • It depends on scope, permits and lead times. We propose a realistic start at quote stage and, once instructed, lock RAMS, logistics and procurement to hit that date.

  • Yes—segregation and reuse where practical, licensed cart-away with transfer notes, and controls for dust, mud, noise and run-off built into our RAMS.

  • Simple, complete packs: photos, inspection/test records, compaction or concrete notes where applicable, waste tickets, as-builts and any product warranties.

  • We flag scope changes early, price them transparently and agree any programme effects before proceeding—no surprises on the final account.

Data Protection

  • We collect only what’s needed to run your project and respond to enquiries (contact details i.e name, email, number and message). It’s used for delivery, safety and compliance.

  • Authorised Duerden Group staff and essential partners (e.g., approved subcontractors or regulators) on a need-to-know basis, under contractual confidentiality.

  • Email us to request access, correction or deletion. We’ll verify your identity and respond within the statutory timeframes under UK GDPR.
